Together in Ministry, Forward in Faith
Why a regional capital campaign for Virginia Disciples? For the ministries we as congregations do best together! Regional campaigns include ministries outside the region and agencies submit proposals. The Regional Board selected eight projects for this capital campaign. No matter what your passion is, there is a ministry that touches your heart. Lynchburg College, Christmount, transformational ministry renewal programs, new church starts, work in South Africa with missionaries Dawn and Jon Barnes, work in Laos with Missionary Xuyen Dangers, Appalachian ministry, church resources from Christian Board of Publication. It’s who we are as Disciples. What a long cord of covenant; what an unbreakable tie that binds.Virginia Disciples will have the opportunity to participate in the capital campaign by pledging through their congregations. Blessings and grace abound!

Hymn Sing / Ice Cream Social
Sunday, September 12th at 6:00 pm join friends and family for a hymn sing followed by an ice cream social in Fellowship Hall, sponsored by the Worship Team. This will be a time of music and fellowship.Let’s fill the hall!!Chicken BBQ Dinner
Saturday, Sept. 25th the men of the church will have a BBQ chicken dinner, eat in or take out from 4:00 – 6:00 pm. Menu: ½ chicken, baked potato, Cole slaw, bread, cup cake (for eat in, iced tea or coffee). $7.00
Tickets are available from most church members.

Bible Study
Tuesday morning Bible study is at 10 AM in the Fellowship Hall. The study will be on “How to Rejoice in Any Situation – Joy.”
Bible study led by Rev. Stan is on Wednesdays at 6:30 PM. Bring a bag supper! The study will be on Isaiah.

CMF (Christian Men's Fellowship)
Meets for breakfast on the second Saturday of the month at 8:00 AM in the Fellowship Hall.
Men, mark your calendar for September 11th and plan to attend.
CWF (Christian Women's Fellowship)
Meets on the third Tuesday of the month at 10:00 AM in the Fellowship Hall.
The ladies of CWF have decided to postpone the spaghetti dinner and silent auction until later in the year.The CWF is currently sponsoring an on-going food collection for Page One and Choices and asks everyone in the church to join in helping to feed the hungry. The collection tubs are at the front and parking lot entrances. The items to be collected the next few months are:
September: Cereal
October: Any non-perishable food
November: Peanut butter & Jelly
December: Soup
