Why a regional capital campaign for Virginia Disciples? For the ministries we as congregations do best together! Regional campaigns include ministries outside the region and agencies submit proposals. The Regional Board selected eight projects for this capital campaign. No matter what your passion is, there is a ministry that touches your heart. Lynchburg College, Christmount, transformational ministry renewal programs, new church starts, work in South Africa with missionaries Dawn and Jon Barnes, work in Laos with Missionary Xuyen Dangers, Appalachian ministry, church resources from Christian Board of Publication. It’s who we are as Disciples. What a long cord of covenant; what an unbreakable tie that binds.Virginia Disciples will have the opportunity to participate in the capital campaign by pledging through their congregations. RECONCILIATION SPECIAL OFFERING - SEPT 25 AND OCT 2
It is the vision of Reconciliation Ministry to build just communities by breaking down the walls within our church which separate us. We claim a new reality in which we live into God's realm by celebrating our unity, affirming the cultural traditions of each member of the body of Christ and working together for justice to ensure radical welcome and access to God's abundant resources. We envision a Church in which all communities are accountable to one another and God.A Disciples Mission Fund special day offering leads the pro-reconciliation/anti-racism work of the church.

Pork Loin Dinner
The church will be hosting a Pork Loin Dinner Fund Raiser on Saturday, October 1st from 5 – 7pm in Fellowship Hall. The menu will be: Pork loin, mashed potatoes & gravy, buttered carrots, hot applesauce, dinner roll, peach cobbler, beverage. The cost is $8.00. A limited number of tickets will be available from church members.

Bible Study
Monday evening at 7 PM- Spirituality class.
Tuesday morning Bible study is at 10 AM in the Fellowship Hall. The study will be on “Unveiling Mary Magdalene.”
Bible study led by Rev. Stan is on Wednesdays at 6:30 PM. Bring a bag supper! The study will be on Matthew 7.

DMF (Disciples Men's Fellowship)
Meets for breakfast on the second Saturday of the month at 8:00 AM in the Fellowship Hall.
Men, mark your calendar for October 8th and plan to attend.
The men are planning a Chicken BBQ for October 22nd. Plan on lending a hand & join in the fun.
DWF (Disciples Women's Fellowship)
Meets on the third Tuesday of the month at 10:00 AM in the Fellowship Hall.
The DWF is currently sponsoring an on-going food collection for Page One and Choices and asks everyone in the church to joinin helping to feed the hungry. The collection tubs are at the front and parking lot entrances. The items to be collected the next few months are:
Sept: any non-perishable item
Oct: school supplies
Nov: canned meat
Dec: pick a child’s name from an Angel Tree
