Good Saturday morning to you all.  We have completed another week of physical distancing, and are now in Eastertide. Resurrection Sunday was far different that most of us have ever experienced before. Here's where we are today. Our suspension of gatherings and physical distancing protocols will continue through May. I am watching the updates from the state and local officials, the medical community and the wider church community.

I miss you all SO MUCH! I miss your smiling faces, your hugs and handshakes. But I want us all to remain safe and healthy. Meanwhile; call, text, e-mail, write – whatever works for you if you have joys or concerns to share or just want to talk. Let me know how your church leaders and I can do a better job of staying in contact with everyone. And more specifically; when I send out this weekend update what do you want to know? How can I make this update more useful?

... What else would you like to find on the site? Anyone wishing they had someone’s recipe to try out during quarantine?  What are you doing while sheltering at home; have you planted a garden, flowers, or are you making things (knitting, crocheting, painting, scrapbooking)? Perhaps you have thoughts, reflections or creative writing to share?

Worship will resume tomorrow on Zoom, and will also be on Facebook Live (Sunday at 11 am EDT). Send a message if you need the link to our Zoom room. We will celebrate and consider "Resurrection!"  I am working on a sermon series on the subject that will take us through the season. What is it? What does it mean; as church, as individuals, and during this time? I hope you will share some of your thoughts and questions.

Next (April 26) week we will have some fun– Holy Humor Sunday! Start collecting your (clean) jokes and stories to share. We need to lighten things up, and laugh together.

The same link we use for worship will also connect you to coffee and fellowship time on Tuesday mornings. Stop by and say "hello" between 9 am and noon. And remember the Weekday morning prayers that are live on Facebook M-F at 10 am.

Prayer requests and updates: to preserve privacy I will not post names or specifics on the web, but continue to share your celebrations and concerns. With permission I will share them with the church.

So, how will we celebrate when we can meet again? What do you miss most about corporate worship? Would you want to celebrate with other congregations? with a Pot Luck? Special music requests?

Finally: Stop the spread – stay home. And until we can meet again keep praying, keep checking on one another, and keep being church.

Grace & Peace,
Rev. Sara Galindo
